What 36Stories is

36Stories is a film diary for your phone. Every roll is 36 shots, with no previews and no retakes. Bring it to a wedding, a birthday or an open house, and everyone shoots into one roll that nobody sees until it develops, not even the host. Then the whole night comes up at once, like picking up prints from the lab.

No previews. No retakes. Everything develops together.

Your phone is a roll of film.

Load a stock. Take 36 shots with no previews and no retakes. Then develop the whole roll at once, like picking up prints from the lab.

Bring it to a party, and everyone shoots into one roll that develops together.

Coming soon to iPhone and Android.

Nobody sees a frame until it develops.

No previews, no retakes, no filters on the live view. Just the counter: 36, 35, 34…

One roll. Everyone's shots.

Make an event and hand everyone a camera. Friends sign in once, join with a code, a QR code or a link, and never pay. Everyone shoots into the same roll, and nobody sees a frame until it develops. Not even the host.

  1. Hand out the cameras.

Share the 8-character code, put the QR on the tables, or drop the link in the group chat.

  2. Everyone shoots.

Each guest gets their own roll for the night, 12, 24 or 36 exposures, and every shot lands in the event roll. Offline? Keep shooting; photos upload when the signal's back.

  3. It develops together.

When the event ends, or at breakfast the morning after, the whole night comes up at once for everyone.

Then everyone waits.

The whole day, in the camera they're holding.

For weddings and bigger nights, the event space grows into an event-day app. Guests already have it open.

  • Schedule

The running order, with camera moments.

“First dance in 5 minutes — get your cameras ready.”

  • News

Updates from the host, straight to every phone: dinner's served, the bus leaves at 11.

  • Wishes

Guests leave notes for the couple, sealed until the photos develop.

  • Pass

Scan the QR at the door to check in and load the roll in one go.

Notifications are words only. Never a photo on a lock screen.

Which parts an event gets depends on its plan.

A few things we'll never do.

  • Show a photo before it develops. Not in the camera, not in a notification, not to the host.

  • Upload your own rolls. They stay on your phone until you save or share them.

  • Ask guests to sign up or pay. A code, a QR or a link is all it takes.

  • Put a photo on your lock screen. Notifications are words only.

  • Tell anyone who reported a photo. Reports go to the host, and the reporter stays anonymous.

A camera at every wedding you run.

Questions, answered.

Do my guests need to download the app?

Yes, 36Stories is free on iPhone and Android. They sign in once with Apple, Google or an email code, then join with your code, QR or link. Signing in is what lets a host block someone who misuses the code.

Do guests pay anything?

Never. If your event fills up, you, the host, can make room from the app.

Can I see the photos before they develop?

No, and neither can anyone else. Until the reveal, everyone (the host too) sees only counts: how many photos, from how many guests.

When do the photos develop?

You choose when you make the event: the moment you end it, at a time you pick (the morning after is a favourite), or to you first so you can choose what to share.

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Keep shooting. Photos are saved on the phone and upload when you're back online.

How many guests can join?

Up to 5 with The Viewfinder (free), 10 with The Film Club and 50 with The Darkroom. One person on two phones counts once. Planner plans have no guest limit.

How many events can I make?

3 a month with The Viewfinder and 10 with The Film Club. The Darkroom has no monthly limit, with up to 5 events running at once.

What happens to my own rolls?

They stay on your phone. Once a roll develops, save the scans to Photos or share the whole contact sheet.

How long do event galleries stay open?

Every gallery shows its closing date: 15 days after it develops with The Viewfinder, 60 with The Film Club, and for as long as the host stays on The Darkroom. If the host's plan changes, the date follows the new plan, and hosts are warned before anything is deleted. The host can also keep a gallery forever.

Can I use it for my business?

The Film Club and The Darkroom are for personal events. Planners, coordinators and venues use a planner plan.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone with iOS 16 or later, and Android 8.0 or later.

Load your first roll.
